Flex Your Arteries And Protect Your Heart With Fish Oil

We may not think much about the flexibility of our arteries. But the American Heart Association estimates that 75 per cent of heart disease deaths involve people with stiffened arteries… and now it turns out that there is a simple way that you can help flex your arteries and keep your heart healthy: fish oil.

Keeping heart attacks at bay

Before I continue, here’s a quick test I need you to do:

Bend over and try to touch your toes.

If that’s too much of a challenge and you are worried that you might fall over, sit down flat on the floor with your legs stretched out straight in front of you and try to touch your toes.

Now, you may think that if you are struggling to reach your toes that your muscles might be a bit stiff, but it turns out that it might be more than ageing stiff muscles.

Failing this basic test could be an early warning sign that your arteries have become hard and rigid — and that’s a problem that can turn deadly.

You see, plaque builds up in your arteries, which causes them to harden and narrow. That makes it harder for your heart to pump blood throughout your body — and that plaque can eventually cause a blockage.

But if you’re worried about the hardening of your arteries… there is a simple, easy and cheap way that you can help loosen up those arteries and improve your heart health. And the great news is that you could achieve this in just three months.

According to a recent study published in the journal Physiological Reports, a daily dose of omega-3 fish oil can make your arteries more flexible.

For the study, patients between the ages of 60 and 80 years were given four 1,000mg fish oil supplements per day for 12 weeks. And that was all it took for these elderly patients to enjoy dramatic drops in their pulse wave velocity (PVW) scores, which measure how stiff your arteries are.

The researchers concluded that fish oil rolled back the clock by years on these patients’ arteries — and it didn’t take long to get results.

Plus, the benefits of fish oil don’t stop there. It’s a powerful inflammation fighter that’s been proven to reduce joint and muscle pain and even improve brain health.

So, if you’re looking for an easy way to slash your heart attack risk, start a daily fish oil regimen.
