The Remarkable Formula That Helps Beat Insomnia
We know that curtailing, or at least reducing, the physiological reaction to stress not only helps relieve your insomnia but it may also help slow down the ageing process. Specifically, insomnia has a direct relationship with the adrenal hormone cortisol.
Your cortisol levels are naturally highest in the morning, then reduce throughout the day, and are lowest during sleep. But studies suggest that levels of cortisol increase with age and it is elevated levels that keep you up and also cause negative changes in hormone activity such as reducing the production of sex hormones like testosterone, oestrogen and progesterone. Declining levels of these hormones are one of the primary causes of physical and mental ageing.
Curbing excess cortisol production and getting a good night’s sleep obviously won’t reverse the natural, gradual decline of hormones that causes changes like the menopause. Yet, it might help to normalise hormones depleted by the natural ageing process, such as DHEA, which could help you head off some of the other side-effects that often accompany ageing like memory loss, fatigue and even weight gain.
Now a brand new product called Seditol has just become available that is able to control cortisol levels… meaning it can help combat insomnia and may even turn out to be one of the crucial keys to anti-ageing.
Seditol was originally developed to act as an anti-stress and anti-anxiety formula
Seditol is made up of a blend of two herbal ingredients magnolia and ziziphus and like many other supplements, it was born out of unexpected benefits found during human trials.
Seditols manufacturer, Next Pharmaceuticals has a patented proprietary blend of magnolia, which it originally intended to market solely as a stress reliever. Magnolia bark has traditionally been used as a general anti-anxiety agent, so its benefits typically centre on controlling stress and anxiety. But newer claims are emerging that link magnolias anti-stress benefits with control of cortisol.
Magnolia bark is rich in two biphenol compounds, magnolol and honokiol, which are thought to contribute to the primary anti-stress and cortisol-lowering effects of the plant.
These cortisol-lowering effects go beyond stress relief though, as Next Pharmaceuticals researchers discovered when testing their proprietary extract. During one study on this blend, they found they were consistently getting feedback not only on reduced anxiety but participants also reported that they had experienced improved sleep.
87% of insomniacs report relief
So, Next Pharmaceuticals switched gears and developed its magnolia extract as a sleep aid, adding zizyphus which has been used to induce sleep in Traditional Chinese Medicine for over 2,000 years to the mix.
Last August, the results of a small trial on Seditol conducted by an independent US research facility in New York showed some impressive results. Participants were asked to try Seditol for 14 days as a nightly supplement.
Ultimately, this study highlighted the importance of taking Seditol regularly as a supplement. In other words, Seditol isn’t a pill you pop for occasional help with sleeping.
Instead, it is a long-term solution to a specific cause of sleeplessness excess cortisol.
The subjects that took Seditol as directed reported the following encouraging results:
- 87 per cent said Seditol reduced the fatigue they felt as a result of lack of sleep
- 83 per cent said Seditol helped ensure a sound nights sleep
Reverse age-related sleeplessness and rediscover youthful rest
Now, back to the sleep and anti-ageing link mentioned earlier. Researchers say that, particularly for older adults, a good nights sleep may be a natural form of hormone therapy, which has long been touted for its anti-ageing benefits.
One study of 149 men aged between 16 and 83 found that age-related changes in sleep quality were linked to specific changes in several hormones. As sleep quality and quantity declined, levels of cortisol increased.
In later years, a new sleep pattern emerges in which men get less sleep overall and levels of cortisol go up. These sleep-pattern changes accompany some negative changes in other hormonal activity. Lead researcher Dr Eve Van Cauter of the University of Chicago in the US concluded that these connections between hormones and shifting sleep patterns suggest that maintaining sleep quality throughout life may have important health benefits.
This particular study did not elaborate on those benefits, but you already know that waking up after a good nights sleep can go a long way in helping you feel better physically and emotionally. And now that this evidence points to rising cortisol levels as the main culprit behind increasing instances of insomnia, its nice to know that there is a simple, safe, and all natural option for reversing this aspect of ageing in the form of Seditol.
What to take for best results
The recommended dosage for Seditol is one 365mg capsule taken each night. You should notice improvements in your sleep within one to two weeks, as your cortisol level normalises.

I started taking SeditolPlus for anxiety and to induce sleep. It worked very well, initially. I would fall asleep almost immediately, but still awoke five hours later. Taking another capsule, then, did not help at all. So I just stuck to the first part – some sleep better than none. However, this morning I realized that I was extremely depressed. I figured out that it was the Seditol Plus. I am usually a happy morning person, and I felt mentally ‘paralyzed’ and wept for no reason. I will be more careful now with these capsules.
Used for first time last night. A VERY DISTURBING experience. Woke me up sharply after just 4-5 hours sleep, followed by a very groggy state in and out of sleep with bizarre dreams. Unable to work today. So oddly sick feeling that I called my doc and made an adverse reaction report to FDA.
I suggest seeing a GOOD hypnotherapist. I’ve been taking two seditol nightly for a week, I LOVE how relaxed it makes me…. Do your research online and make sure your supplements are worth the money, Jamieson is the best “cheap” vitamin company.
Nitey nite!
I have taken Seditol Plus for 3 nights. I have been getting less sleep than ever with the 2 capsules I am advised to take (one at dinner, one at bedtime). Now I wake up after an hour or so of sleep and lay awake for another hour, and then repeat. I am bored out of my skull laying awake in the middle of the night. I am also feeling odd – like anxious.
I have been taking Seditol for the past 6 weeks and have been sleeping soundly something I havent been able to do over the past few years.
It is fantastic, have been using it for 2 years, I was previously an insomniac, and I have slept peacefully every night since, as peacefully as I can with 2 little girls anyway!
I am going to try this… now I must just find something to stop my hubby from snoring – lifting the roof every evening…
Great write up, but the two comments by users do not inspire confidence in the product! I’m not sure if I’ll try it now?
Tried this product, it just stopped me sleeping LOL. I ended up being awake at night more than when I did not take the product. Felt terrible during the day. Back to the old sleeping tablets…
I’ve been taking Seditol for 2 nights now and today feel very spacey, foggy….is that normal for starting the supplement?
