Ancient Herbal Wisdom Could Bring Relief From Arthritis

However, he was initially very sceptical of TCM formulas because while their ingredient lists always include herbs well known for their healing potential he believed they suffered from three drawbacks.

Step 1 involves choosing efficacious herbs to target specific conditions and/or symptoms.

Step 2 requires putting the herbal compounds into an appropriate delivery system, whether its an oral supplement or a topical cream or lotion.

Step 3 involves applying the formula. In order for any formula to have a beneficial effect, the active ingredients must pass through a barrier in your body either your skin (for a topical preparation) or your stomach (for an oral supplement). To mimic this process, Dr. Tam created artificial membranes including one he patented, called SimBioDAS, which simulates the body’s absorbing/filtering response to supplements.
