Chronic Fatigue Syndrome
Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS), also known as myalgic encephalomyelitis (ME), is a complex medical condition, characterized by long-term fatigue. Symptoms include fever, aching, chronic fatigue and depression, typically occurring after a viral infection. These symptoms are to such a degree that they limit a person’s ability to carry out ordinary daily activities and the quality of life of chronic fatigue sufferers can become challange.
Diagnosis for CFS can be very tricky and while the mainstream is still struggling to find the exact cause of chronic fatigue, some forwarding-thinking experts believe it the central problem of CFS is mitochondrial failure resulting in poor production of ATP. ATP is the currency of energy in the body and the mitochondria is the powerhouse of each cell in our bodies, which produces ATP.
